Whole Wheat Bread

This bread has a very delicious flavor and is very moist. Good luck keeping this in your pantry.

This Recipe makes 2 loaves of bread.

Ingredients:

  • 4 1/2 cups Hard White Wheat (Grind fresh into flour.. Makes about 9 cups)

  • 1 1/4 Tbsp Yeast

  • 1/4 cup Vegetable, Canola or Coconut Oil

  • 1/3 cup Honey

  • 1 Tbsp Kosher Salt

  • 1 Tbsp Wheat Gluten

  • 1Tbsp Dough Enhancer

  • 3 cups Hot Water

Directions:

  1. Mix 4 cups of freshly ground flour into your mixing bowl.

  2. Add your yeast and 3 cups of hot water. Mix until their are no lumps and it looks creamy.

  3. Next add oil, honey, salt, and gluten and mix until smooth.

  4. Add more flour 1/2 cup at a time until the dough is mixed well and pulls from the sides slightly. Continue mixing for 7 minutes with your dough hook.

  5. Add dough enhancer and mix for another 2 minutes.

  6. Remove dough from bowl onto a lightly oiled counter and dived dough ball in half. Shape each ball into loaves and place in oiled bread pans.

  7. Immediately place bread pans into bread bags and seal off the end. The dough is warm and will trap moisture inside the bag and help proof the dough. Let the dough rise until about 1 inch above the pan.

  8. Remove from bread bags and place in cold oven. Turn on oven to 350 degrees and set timer for 37 minutes. Dough will continue to rise during the initial warming of the oven.

  9. If you have a temp probe the bread should be no hotter than 190 degrees inside temp. When done remove from oven and remove from bread pans immediately and place on a cooling rack.

  10. Enjoy. Total time from start to finish for me is about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
