Caramel Dumplings in Sauce


Carmel Sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 2 cup hot water

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 2 tablespoon butter

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions:

  1. Carmelize 3/4 cup sugar in heavy skillet

  2. When golden add remaining ingredients

  3. Cook until smooth

Dumplings:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour

  • 2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 5 tablespoon shortening

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • ( 2 cups of Bisquick can be used in place of above ingredients )

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

  1. Mix dough

  2. Drop by tablespoon into hot carmel sauce.

  3. Leave space between dumplings.

  4. Cook on medium heat 30 minutes with lid on.

  5. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
